In May 2021, the total trade volume between Taiwan and ASEAN countries were 9.816 billion US dollars. The total exports from Taiwan to ASEAN were 5.914 billion US dollars, while the total imports from ASEAN to Taiwan were 3.902 billion US dollars. In comparison to May 2020, total trade volume between Taiwan and ASEAN countries has increased by 46.73%, while Taiwan’s export to ASEAN countries experienced a 54.71% increase and Taiwan’s import from ASEAN countries increased by 36.10%. Singapore ranks the highest amongst ASEAN countries with a total trade volume of 2.938 billion US dollars (Taiwan’s export to Singapore were 2.004 billion US dollars while Taiwan’s import from Singapore were 0.934 billion US dollars). Malaysia is the second highest with a total trade volume of 2.154 billion US dollars (Taiwan’s export to Malaysia were 1.154 billion US dollars while Taiwan’s import from Malaysia were 1 billion US dollars).
